LOSS WAX SYSTEM
This is the Nepali handmade statue, Made by the process of los wax system with the skillful hands of Nepali crafts man from Patan a famous city inside Kathmandu valley popular for metal crafts.

FINISHING
This is full fire Gilded statue with the gold painted face. The gold Gilding is done by the ancient process of gold plating, where a grinded mixture of Gold, Mercury and Glass is applied to the body of the statue, which then is heated, burning off the mercury and leaving back a rich permanent plating of gold. After the Gold plating is completed it is sent for the antique patina finishing.

FINISHING : FULL GOLD GILDED WITH ANTIQUE PATINA.

The whole body of this Sahasrabhuja Avalokiteswara statue has been gilded with Gold by the ancient process of gold gilding using amalgam Gold, This process of Gold gilding is known as Mercury Gold Gilding (पारा Pārā सुन Suna जलप Jalap), Fire Gilding, or Fire gold plating(In Nepal). Gold gilded by this process is very good for the copper statues, as the statue gilded by this process will retain the gold for very long time. Gold Gilded by this process is comparatively expensive to the modern electrochemical plating but due to it durability it is still a prefered choice for many collectors and practitioners alike.
After the Gilding is completed the Sahasrabhuja Avalokiteswara statue was sent to the sculpture aging artist to bring a antique feel or patina to the statue. Artists of the metal aging process prefer not to share information about the sculpture aging techniques hence we cannot explain the whole process of aging in detail.  Read Full Article

AVALOKITESHVARA | CHENREZIG : BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Of all the deities in Mahayana Buddhism, the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, Chenrezig, is one of the most celebrated. He is the lord gifted with complete enlightenment, who refrains from entering the blissful state of nirvana to remain here below and save the living being of the earth. This devotion to the salvation of others emphasizes the profound compassion.

Compassion for others had always been regarded as a virtue in early Buddhism, but it had a somewhat subordinate place to wisdom. In Mahayana Buddhism, compassion received an equal emphasis with wisdom, perhaps because the Mahayana was more consciously universal and covered a wider sector of society. In this view of the world, all men and women, not just those leading a monastic life, could achieve nirvana.
