When a group of small brass balls are tied or strung together in a thick white cotton string, it forms a "Ghungroo". It is generally used in the classical dances like Kathak and Odissi and is used by classical dancers and folk dancers in Nepal. In some dances, it is also used as the main musical instrument. It comes in pair where each Ghungroo has 50 brass bells combining together becomes 100 brass bells. Each ball has the size of 1.6 cm in diameter. It is worn in the ankles.
