This khukuri is also known as MK-V (mark5) khukuri, BAS khukuri (British Army standard ),BSI khukuri (British Army issue) and falkland kukuri. This khukuri is used by Gurkhas Army in many battles and Active services for world peace, and its also issued For three New regiments of Gurkhas .(Queen’s Gurkha Engineer, Queen’s Gurkhas signals and Queen’s own Gurkhas Logistic Regiments).In 1948 -1960 (malayam Emergency), 1962-1966 (Borneo Confrontation), 1982 (Falklands war), 1990-2000 (Kosoro to sierra leone), 2001-2014 (Afghanistan), 2003-2011 ( Irag), and 2014 (Ebola). Gurkhas soldiers are closely associated with this khukuri and have a well known reputation for their fearless military prowess. Gurkhas soldiers recruited in peacekeeping force and war zones around the world.
